Cherry red ribbon knit 2 piece dress with painted dancers swirling in 3-D quilted skirts! Top has self belt with hook and eye and snap closure, round fold-over collar and buttons up back. Dancers are painted on with fabric skirts, done in a European style! Slim fitting skirt has metal snaps up side, hooks and eyes at waist. Hand made, no flaws aside from some wear to handpainting. Ivory ribbon knit 2 piece 40s dress with self belt and European flag motif. Top has fold over collar that hooks in back with hooks and eyes. Several European cities flags represented on the bodice, including a bull with a red ring in its nose from Uri Canton in Switzerland. Wonderful black crepe 40's dress with persimmon accents at center inset, collar and pockets. Pockets are studded with black metal beads and decorated with knotted cord. 40's dress of black crepe rayon with fringed and knotted accents. Squared fabric covered buttons angle acrosss front, wide sash is fringed at ends. Side pocket has knotted overlay with just a hint of olive green crepe rayon behind openings....same colored fabric on turned up cuffs. Fringed accent at right shoulder. Side metal zipper, no label. Black harlequin weave slipper satin 40's gown with the BEN REIG label, created under the supervision of head designer OMAR KIAM (former costume designer for MGM, designing for films such as "The Vogues of 1938").  Large rhinestone buttons, sculpted front peplum, side metal zip, pertersham ribbon inside waist seam. Top rhinestone button is cloudy, leaving buttons as is. No other issues at all....a superb collectible piece of fashion history. 40's dress with bold daisy print in pink and white on loden green. Linen weave rayon done in a shirtwaist style with self belt, longer skirt hits at mid calf. Side metal zipper, large self buttons, rounded collar and cuffed sleeves. No label, 2 pinholes in back of skirt...comes with extra fabric made into a scarf shape to wear at neck or on head. Breathtaking black crepe rayon colum gown with long, dramatic peplum and all over painted and sequined floral motif on bodice and peplum. Dress has shallow V neckline, shirred shoulders above split flutter sleeves lined and edged with sheer black nylon mesh. Flowers are painted on, some painted and appliqued.....adorned with gelatin based sequins. Peplum is lined and edged with same sheer nylon as sleeves. Falls straight to ankle length with slit up front to knee. Side and nape of neck metal zippers, petersham ribbon inside reinforces waistseam. No label. Rayon 40's dress with bold & whimsical floral print! Navy blue with red and white roses and sketchbook daisies. Collar is winged and accented with self buttons, side of skirt boasts same self buttons up each side. Side metal zipper. A "SIZED TO HEIGH by Murray White". Sadly, this dress has some light rust hued spots toward the hem on some of the white squiggles, as pictured...not terribly noticeable but of note! No other issues. Iconic deep navy wool 2 piece vintage 40's dress by esteemed designer CLAIRE MCCARDELL. Waist length jacket style top is trimmed around neckline, hem and placket with black braided soutache, hooks up front with true McCardell style larg metal hooks and eyes. Sweeping full circle skirt picks up the soutache trim, running around side pocket on right hip (another McCardell trademark!), skirt zips up left side and hooks with small hooks and eyes. The top is sadly missing 3 of the hooks, but this set is in perfect condition otherwise and a great size to boot! A stellar example for a collector in wearable condition. May have been a gown that was shortened but done to a period correct length and done preofessionally.
