Silvery white embroidered lilacs arch up right side of dress while metallic indigo gelatin sequined lilacs adorn left hip. Golden embroidered grass finishes hem all around. Same design front and back. Sides slit high with black beaded trim, beaded lace leaves at tops of slits...2 more beaded leaves on upper left of dress. Likely a few missing beads within all the beadwork, 3 tiny prick-holes in back toward neck as shown....no stains, no tears, sturdy and quite wearable. 1920s sheer black silk chiffon tabard style dress with shimmering black glass beads top to bottom, front and back. Red beads in winged deco design wrap hips on either side. Beaded overdress fastens at hips and under arms draping loosely over a solid black weighted simple underdress, both pieces open at left side with snaps and hooks and eyes. Late teens to early 20s Orientalism inspired purple velvet and metallic multicolor silk evening coat. Deep purple velvet lower half wraps up over shoulder, hooking inside with hooks and eyes, snapping atop shoulder and at under bust seam on left. Purple velvet double peaked accent above sleeve cuffs. Hem scooped lower in back than in front, shirred below waist seam in back for fullness of velvet. Lining has been removed due to age and will need replaced (a furrier or good seamstress can easily put in another)...otherwise perfectly sturdy and wearable with no stains or holes. Label from Burgess-Nash of Omaha, Nebraska (a department store). Very Poiret-esque! Size M/L best fit, to be worn oversized. Lolita style dress has high waist with panels over bust secured with organza ruffled silk straps, sleeves have double row of organza ruffles down to below elbow where the ruffles split apart and curve around cuff. Silk ribbons run vertically from waist weaving through layers of netting to come out toward hem in dainty knots.
