Delicate bohemian blue ombre dyed silk chiffon 1970s caftan gown with hand dyed neckline and peaked detail at sleeves over fitted blue silk jersey gown, a very early piece by HALSTON. Caftan has rounded neckline with coral, aqua and pewter necklace effect hand dyed with dyes from India onto textile, keyhole opening in back with loop/button closure. Seams come to peaks toward elbows of "sleeves"...small openings for wrist, loads of draping between sleeve and body of gown. Blue turns from soft sky to indigo as it reaches asymetrical hemline. Underdress is a robin's egg blue in silk jersey, spaghetti straps at shoulders...slips on, no closure. Some faint yellow dots toward "underarm" of caftan, very very light...one pick in silk toward hemline and one toward neck...all of which matter none at all when wearing!
